Great research tools - do you know what they charge for membership? I looked around and didn't find it.

Fraid not - DH got the notice, and says they're hoping that educators will encourage their libraries to pick up a subscription.

I've found several good things there. This seems to be the root of the Gettysburg guide program, among other things:

Edited to say: Drat, the link won't access the issue directly. It's The United States Service Magazine, vol. 1, January 1864.

I must agree that this is a great resource. I did not know for example, Davis sent a commissioner to D.C. in the early days of the Confederacy.

Very great and interesting resources which I hope all on the forum are reading.

Hmm...I guess I posted this in the wrong place......I put the information up about this resource a week ago..hope people do use it, since it is an excellent resource, and free through the end of April. I believe they only market to libraries and consortium, so I'm not sure you could subscribe as an individual.
