    Bro. Greg,

Yes, that is very much a post CW apron. If I had to put a date on it I would say 1880-1910. Still, a nice looking apron, though.

concerning the pin, I went and saw the jeweller I thought it was going to be ready as he said. he had started the silver pin got so far with it and stopped. he was not happy with the circles round the S&C,and the detail . so he has sent a for special cast that will make pure round circles and start again. (I think its harder the he thought )but he is trying again. there is not much to go on the original pin either so we have come up with plan B . I will keep you all informed of any developments.
I am sorry for it not being ready but i have told him there is no rush but its got to be spot on.

photo attached of the origianl and the one he started.

              Yours Fraternally

My newest acquisition. Puts me in the mind of the NW pins sold my sutlers in the first half of the war, the ones marked IND, WIS, MICH, etc. I feel it's likely the hanger for an officers breast jewel, there is an additional bar on the rear that would accept a ribbon or chains.

Here's a cabinet card circa 1880 of "Mr. Hungeford". Couldn't the photographer tell him he had his eyeglasses on up-side-down?

I think he may be an Odd Fellow upon closer examination.

                        Scott,

I may be mistaken, but I think both of those dudes are Odd Fellows...especially when they wear their glasses upside down!

Notice the collar that Mr. "Spiritualist" Hungeford is wearing? See the three linfs of chain that connect each side of the collar? That is the iconic symbol of the Odd Fellows.

Agreed Pat, the collars that I see in that particular pattern tend to be IOF, and Im certain now that Scott posted the other pic of him.

Nice pics none the less, Ill probably move them over to the Fraternal Orders folder for safe keeping.

This was recently on eBay. Looks like a good subject, but I don't see anything too telling.

Does anyone think this could be a subject from the anti-Masonic movement?

                              From the Clarksville Texas Standard, March 2, 1861, p. 2 c. 1.

                              Odd Fellows' Celebration.

Yesterday the Odd Fellows of our vicinity, assisted by a few members from Paris, and aided also, we believe, by the Masonic Fraternity, had a procession in regalia, an Oration, grand Supper, and a Ball. The Oration was delivered by the Rev. M. Bradley, of Paris.—Much interest was excited by the whole affair.
