    Favorite Minstrel Songs

    After watching a few of Mr. Anderton's videos, I was inspried to spark up some conversation: What is everyones favorite minstrel songs? Mine include:

    -Jim Along Josey

    -Dandy Jim Ob Caroline

    -Keemo Kimo

    and of course, the all time classic:

    -Old King Crow

    So let me hear it, whats your favorite minstrel songs to hear.

      "Oh! Lemuel" a popular tune at the time, and the not-well-known
      "Blue Eagle Jail" that Carl plays here

        I love the "De United States" song. Not completely sure of the exact title. Oh and I also love it when Carl sings the "Daisy" song. hehe. :) I think I actually have a video of Carl and Frank singing that song somewhere. I'll have to go dig it up.

              I think my favorites would be the Camptown Shaker's version of Ole' Dan Tucker and Boatman's Dance.

                Since Frank Converse published "The Blue Eagle Jail" in January of 1865, I'll assume it ain't post-war.

                  A good assumption as it must have been written and performed before it was published. Thanks for the info., and the performance.

                    Oh! Lemuel! is a great Stephen Foster tune. Other Foster tunes I like are: De Camptown Races, Angelina Baker, Ring, Ring De Banjo, Old Folks at Home, My Old Kentucky Home and The Glendy Burk.

                            I love all those ones dat you said, I also love the song Few Days. Idk if you saw de Old King Crow vid dat Massa Anderton posted on de youtube or not. But I'm the one playin de bones, and slo in the Grapvine Twist vid.
