    If you going to be in DC around the inauguration, stop by the Museum of American History and listen to the Federal City Brass Band!




    Saturday, January 17 - Monday, January 19, 2009
    Smithsonian Museum of American History, Washington, DC
    The Federal City Brass Band performs music of Abraham Lincoln as part of
    special museum programming January 17-19 in conjunction with the Presidential Inauguration
    and the opening of two new exhibits on Lincoln, commemorating the bicentennial of his birth.
    Performances between 11 am and 4 pm daily. Free and open to the public.

    The Federal City Brass Band commemorates Abraham Lincoln's 200th Birthday with the performance of some of Lincoln's favorite music
    as well as other popular music which was written or performed for him during his presidency. Free and open to the public.

    Is Mark Elrod still a member of this band? He and I belonged to a N-SSA unit back in the early 1970s.

    He was always running around with some antique mouthpiece in his haversack at skirmishs.
