  • U.S. 1862 marked drumsticks and sling

    Seller's description: top of drum box is marked K.M.R. & Co. Interior of box with wool drum carrying sling. Both 16" sticks marked U.S. 1862.

    Error in seller's description-- looks like cotton webbing to me. Strange that they saved the case for the sling but the sling itself is ripped apart...

    Here's another set of marked sticks. Both these pairs look like they might be rosewood sapwood. Perhaps the contract called for rosewood and they used inferior sapwood instead of heartwood to save money.
