  • Bugle question

    Hello,

Did Confederate and Federal cavalry troops use different bugle calls? Seems like they would have used different calls to avoid confusion and possible friendly fire casualties. Does anyone have any documentation to support the argument one way or the other?

    many thanks,

    Re: Bugle question

    Hello!

You look new here judging by your postings... As a matter of protocol: Did you check the search engine for these key words? There is quite a bit on here already about bugle calls.

But as to differences in the Blue/Grey armies in respect to their bugle calls, I feel the question could be valid to someone that knows more about the topic. If you'd like this moved to the Cav Forum, please let me know.

        Re: Bugle question

The calls were pretty much the same as they derrived from the same pre war army. There were exceptions however. For more info go to tapsbugler.com or rjsamp.com
