  • Banjo Duett. As played by Fox and Converse.

This song can be found on page 54 of Frank Converse's Old Cremona Songster, published in 1863. The 26 year old Converse was getting quite a reputation by then as a top-notch banjo player. Charley Fox was also a well-known banjoist and comedian. To view the entire songster, go to the Banjo Clubhouse http://milfordmusic.com/Banjo%20Audio.htm

Massa is a Stingy Man was a comic tune written by original Virgina Minstrel Dick Pelham. It can also be found arranged for banjo in Phil. Rice's 1858 Correct Method for the Banjo. The comedy is from the Old Cremona Songster, with a nod to my banjo buddy Tim Twiss.

You know, you guys answered my prayers! I was hoping you would do "Keemo Kimo"! Again, great stuff! I look forward to your future endeavours.

          They've recorded that one, too.
