For those interested who might be in the New York/Long Island area this weekend - Old Bethpage Village Restoration will be holding the annual Candlelight Evenings this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 16th, 17th and 18th - with period music in the one room schoolhouse from 5pm to 9:30pm. We will be utilizing and showcasing our four period violins - all from the mid 19th century, set up with accurate period pitch and gut strings - playing fiddle music from the 1850's and and 1860's - traditional and holiday tunes from the era. Other music, including a brass quartet on antique instruments will also be there. Bring appropriate lighting to enjoy your walk around the village, i.e., lanterns. Note: There will be no Candlelight Evenings this year after Christmas, as there has been in the past years. Hope to see members of the 119th New York and 14th Brooklyn there. Merry Christmas to all!
