  • Noble and Cooley Drum on Ebay

I know where there are about 8 more of these, all "custom-built" about 8-10 years ago for CT Valley Field Music (an Ancient drum corps). (They must have gotten yet another set of new "old" drums. . . )

She's pretty but not civil war period.... Don't think I'd even consider paying $1,300 for a reproduction drum from anyone. Original's pop up much cheaper all the time.

Other than mentioning the Civil War style snare strainer, Dave doesn't actually say it's a reproduction of a Civil War drum, so it's not false advertising. I guess it's a reproduction of an Ancient drum!

I know. I was just saying that because this forum is supposed to be related to all things Civil War. Not being a jerk, just saying.

Well, it could be defarbed, but at that price you could buy several of Will's drums! Save it for musters.

I posted it more as of caveat emptor, because while he did say "custom built," he didn't say exactly when. . .and he did say "Noble & Cooley". . . in that case, maybe it should have been a caveat lector. . .

Poor David! Ancients won't buy it (they're too poor) and reenactors won't buy it (it's too weird), I'm afraid he just might be stuck with it.
