I am looking for a fife. Who makes a good one, what key etc.

Cooperman all the way. I used to be in the Fifes and Drums of Yorktown and got all of my fifes from them. They were all quality built and have sounded great over the years.

Ron Peeler makes two fifes reproduced from period examples (in B flat). In general, most other fifes on the market (including Cooperman) are based on post war examples and are designed to achieve perfect intonation.

You will need to decide what you are looking for and then try using the search function. This topic has been discussed on this forum before.
