Well, one possibility might be to also look to see if there are any banjo tabs for a traditional, slightly "salty," English seaman's ditty entitled "Maggie May." The tunes to these are similar, if not identical. Indeed, the Beatles actually did a brief version of "Maggie May" on their "Let It Be" album.

Hi John, how are you? -- I have an arrangement of "Darling Nellie Gray" that I can send you. Give you your email address and I'll send you the MIDI and the lyrics. Send me your street address and I'll send you the tab and notation.
Long time no "see"! Since sending you that asphaltum paint a couple of years ago I have tried my own hand at banjar making and even more foolishly trying to learn to play. Carl Anderton has been VERY helpful (Thanks again, Carl!) but I would appreciate any assistance - especially since I think you are just "the other side of the mountains" from me. My email address now is: ottertin@sover.net
and my home address is:
John Peterson
26 Carver Street
Brandon, VT 05733
I'm looking forward hearing from you. Thanks!
John
