    Moderator Note.

    The so called 5' rule (also 10' rule, 30' rule, or 100 yd rule) is a farbism and has no place in this forum. Most all of us get closer than 5 ' to gear and this mainstream "rule" is nothing less than an excuses for inauthenticity that contributes to farbism rather than preventing it.
