    Gents,
    Heres an image courtesy of Library of Congress of
    Hardtack waiting on some dock most likely major "Weebel Castles"(sp) by now. I wonder if the officer still has his ivories.

          Just for clarification, the Capt. in the stereograph is J.W. Forsyth. The hardtack boxes he's sitting on are the same Union Mechanical boxes that I'm reproducing. I've spent a LOT of time with this image doing 1:1 scale drawings getting the stencil just right. If I recall correctly, the image was made just outside of Petersburg. Y'all are right, this is a great image- and like all the rest, it has alot to tell us (about 1000 words worth if the parable is correct!)
