I am in need of help dating this tintype featuring two civilians, man and woman.
The photo is a tintype measuring approximately 3" high and 2" wide (only photo, no paper).
I can, from my research, conclude that the photo was taken during the 1863-1870 time frame. I base this off of the following evidence:
1: The Potter's Patent paper casing with the embossed boarder featuring stars.
2: The white (black) background in the photo.
My question is: Can anyone see anything in the clothing of the man or the woman that could support the 1860's time period theory?
Plus, is there a name for the dark colored ribon she is wearing?
Respectfully Submitted,
James Watkins
