This may be one of my first posts..but I've been a lurker for years...please forgive any proper posting protocol I may miss.
Found this High Quality photo of Atlanta in 1864 while doing research for the final parts of the book on Cheatham Hill and the Kennesaw campaign I am putting the finishing touches on. It is one of the better ones I've seen. I especially like the lower left soldier near the wall with posted 'flyers' for upcoming 'stage' shows that I assume never occurred because of the occupation of the city.
The website where I found the picture contains thousands of HD pictures from 1850-1950... shorpy.com.
I look forward to posting more actively on here again as I am currently reengerized about the hobby after an 8 year lull.
