I would speculate, guess, that in his perhaps nervous zeal to turn the US plate upside down, he or the photographer forgot to flip the cap pouch on the
belt.

If that's a mirror image, everything's backwards, the bayonet would be on the wrong side. Here's my guess. That's the photographers stuff and "new guy" slapped the stuff on upside down, and the bayonet scabbard was just spun on the belt so it wasn't upside down.[FONT="Book Antiqua"]"Grumpy" Dave Towsen
