Looks like a family photograph with the father and mother seated left to right respectfully and the sons surrounding them. I am fearful of them and their bayonets though. It is an interesting photo.Don Woods

I wonder if was a post mortem picture, but then it is not 'solemn' with the bayonets and all. She may have kept her eyes closed maybe having blue eyes not wanting white eyes.
In addition, collar numbers, five button stand-up collar Wisconsin blouses, reversed jacket opening, wide stripe spacing. And what appears to be rifle slings used as cross belts.
