      What I found interesting about this image is that I'd never seen a demonstration or "training" photograph that dated from the Civil War. I assume this photo would have been converted into an engraving for the book.

          As I'm in the military and have been trained as a Combat life saver there is one more carry... The tee bag drag , this is where the injuried soldier puts his arms around your neck as he is laying on his back . you stradle him and crawl as he holds to your neck . This is designed for a combat situation and it works well
