  • Alabama Sack Coat ? on Ebay

Any takes on this jacket - possibly a forgery or a UCV jacket?

It looks to me like one of the old CS coats seen in so many Civil War themed movies from the 1940's thru the 1960's. I think the current bid price says it all....

"The material used and style of contruction looked rite to her. I'm not an expert but would agree.."

It doesnt look "rite" to me. Looks like a field coat I used to wear when I went dove hunting. Mine didnt have the blue trim though:tounge_sm

It actually looks to be from the Span-Am era to me.

I am no expert by any stretch but I have studied Span-Am stuff myself and I would have to agree with Mr. Hartness. It looks like a 1887 or 1889 fatigue blouse variant without the external pockets.
