Letter from George Powell who was a member of the 1st Indiana Cavalry. At the time he was at Helena, Arkansas and gives some great insight about the area. He also gives a nice account of the 3rd Iowa Cavalry in their recent fight. A grand Trans Mississippi letter.

Interesting read . I sent the site to a friend of mine in our unit. He lives in Helena. He just so happens to be in the same profession as us.
