I have done the same after 20 years of fixing bayonet on the SAME Enfield, as well as the brass sight blade on an M1842... (annoyingly, the Enfield lost its sight right before Inspection...)
It needs "resoldered" back on.
IMHO, soldering, and even silver soldier which runs the risk of barrel warpage if not properly sinked) is always a mediocre or poor choice for reattaching front sights and bayonet lugs that take "hits" from the bayonet (espcially in cold weather).
I have always wanted to look into electric arc welding, or TIG or MIG welding possibilities to get a stronger "joint," but never got around to it.
Perhaps someone familiar with these processes can chime in?
