    Thanks Curt,
    I assume the possibility of damaging the inside of the barrel is very slim when one does the intitial pounding by hand since the stamp itself was pounded in after the barrel was completed. Maybe I should get a cheap kit gun to practice this on before I try it on the guns I really like. That would be a great excuse for buying another gun. My wife refers to that way of thinking as Orange Justification. She's even figured out how to work those angles herself. ;-)

      Remember, when contemplating removal of manufacturer's marks from imported or other firearms: there are pesky federal laws which may apply.
