    Andrew,

The previous green coffee bean thread is fairly recent, and should have some similar responses. In any case a simple Google search for "green coffee beans" will yield a number of sources (yes, use the quotataion marks in the search), and take a good look at the pricing for green coffee beans, as you can find a range from under $3 per pound to over $25 per pound. When buying 50 or more pounds at a time for a typical ration issue, this can make a big different in the event budget.

While looking up a few items this morning for the 24th Iowa's rations next March, this company that specializes in green coffee beans was buried in the list of vendors. I haven't used them in a while, but may do so in the near future:

Same here. We had 'em just about ready to take off when all of the sudden the flame kicked up and caught the whole thing on fire. Needless to say we didn't have coffee that morning.

              Hi,

I roasted my first set today, without any problems. This may be due to the fact that I got a lot of information from a person at Whole Foodsm, that had done this before.

                  Re: Green Coffee Beans

There is an outfit called CoffeebeanDirect. (I believe it is www.coffeebeandirect.com) They sell in a minimum 5lb bag lots. But they do have a staggering variety of both green and roasted beans. They are good, but I'd suggest going in with a couple of fellas to reduce the individual cost. (and buy a larger bag) I've used them for personal use as well as for ration issue.

I postes information yesterday about "Coffee Bean Direct" for buying Green beans. Their address IS www.coffeebeandirect.com. For a 5 lb bag of Brazil santos beans, the cost is 21.25 + 6-7 dollar shipping....If you have lots of coffee need, a 25 lb bag costs $100.00 and shipping is free.

                      Re: Green Coffee Beans

Coffeebeandirect is a fine outfit. They "coffeed" both battalions at BGR and will provision us with that glorious bean at Into the Piney Woods. The big bags come in burlap which is an added plus.

                      My two cents,
