mississippi rifle alterations in georgia

i was wondering if anyone knew anything about what type/types of alterations made to mississippi rifles stored in georgia arsenals and issued to georgia troops, particularly troops in and around savannah. i recall reading somewhere that under the militia act of 1808 the US govt. was required to give a certain allowance of arms per year to the states for defense and militia purposes. i know mississippi rifles were issued to georgia but what types of alterations if any were performed on these rifles before being issued?
