I recently acquired a "puppy paw" belt plate, but I have no belt to go with it correctly (the belt I have is the mid/late war kind, with the brass keeper and arrowback belt plate). I have harness leather, and I have a strap cutter, plus all the other necessary leatherworking tools. Only thing I'm lacking is details of construction, especially how the leather keeper was sewn (or riveted) on. Can somebody supply me with these details? Thanks!

Re: Leather waist-belt keeper details
Richard,
Here are some pictures of my original. The keeper is single-needle stitched (whip stitch) at about 5 spi. The loop is big enough to accommodate the thickness of the belt only and not the buckle. Each end of the loop is skived to a nice taper, folded around the belt and overlapped.
Hope this helps!Bill Lomas
