    Paletots

    Pards,
    Wondering if anyone knew of any good articles on mens Paletots. Particularly bout construction techniques, fabrics, history, etc. Ive looked over the internet but cant find anything good. Any help would be appreciated.

    Past Patterns carries a Paletot pattern. They frequently have historical documentation included with the construction instructions.

          Kara Bartels and Brian Merrick of Corner Clothers make a wonderful reproduction of the civilian man's paletot using a pattern based on the one from Past Patterns. As soon as I can I'm getting one made.

          They share Pat Kline's Gettysburg shop and their website is www.cornerclothers.com. Brian and Kara are both very helpful and great to deal with.

            Thanks for the picture, I recognized it right away as the one from past Patterns. I guess ill just have to order the pattern. Brian Merricks coats are awesome, I talked to him in December, a great guy. I think that it would be good if several people got some articles on this coat. Not many people in the hobby use it enough. I will try to do some research and get the info posted. Thanks to all who replied.
