  • Markings on Imported Blankets

I'm specifically interested in the size, shape, color and so forth of the arrow and WD marking found on some imported blankets. I saw a few repros of these blankets a few weeks ago at DRL and have been intrigued by them since. I know in one of Troiani books he has a drawing showing this marking on a saddle blanket. I've used the search engine on this site and haven't come up with anything). Any help would be deeply appreciated.

    Re: Markings on Imported Blankets

    Hey Tim,

All the ones you saw at DRL were done by me. I flew to Troiani's house and he got out the one you mention in your post. I photographed and measured the original, dimensions, angles with a protractor, all details, etc. to get it right. Don was kind to let me have access. The original had a thick looking paint on it that appered to me to be very dried out oil paint. I made a stencil and stamped up a few white blankets from England. If you want one, see Kiev Thomason with the Traveling Man's Emporium as I told him how to get it done. Hope this helps.
