  • School for the soldier...

With the Civil War Living History Institute's (http://www.cwlhi.org) upcoming Reenactor Command and Staff College (RCSC) program in the works, I was curious as to what offerings existed out there for the common soldier (be it for first timers, folks getting back into the hobby, etc)?

    Bryan,

I hit the link and nothing on that site seems to be updated since 2006.

      For the "common-soldier":

Annually groups hosts Camp of Instruction events...typically somewhere from the end of Winter to mid-Spring.

The 23rd VA and our affiliate units hosted a Camp of Instruction, a few weeks ago at Petersburg National Military Park (focus on School of the Soldier and School of the Squad, with a little added instruction on packing equipment, eating on campaign...and instruction in building gabions for field-fortifications).

The Potomac Legion will be hosting their Camp of Instruction in just a few more weeks...focus on the "common-soldier".

Are these the types of events your asking about?
