  • Looking for someone who repairs/restores Flags?

    Gents.

Does anyone know of a person who is skilled in the art of flag repair and restore, my company has a painted silk flag of the Louisiana seal which is in very bad shape due to age. If anyone can recommend someone i would be mighty oblidged.

    With my compliments

I'd recommend Paul and Peter Luks of our battalion, the Liberty Rifles. The Twins both have daytime jobs and don't reproduce their flags 24/7. However, they may be able to help you out.

      Paul Luks: pluksodu@msn.com
      Peter Luks: cheesermackey@msn.com

Check out this thread for some images of their work:

      Hope this helps,

(The featured flag is the 1st Maine Heavy Artillery flag unfurled at a film shoot this past weekend)

I can't quite tell from your post if this is an original flag or not.

If it is an artifact, I encourage you to contact Fonda Ghiardi Thomsen – Widely. She is considered one of the leading experts on antique textiles and has worked on flags for museums and private collections.

I'm confident she can do any repair/restoration you are looking for.
