I was hoping for bigger sheets than 6x8 but perhaps I can make do with these. BTW, IMHO better for use in certain lanterns than glass -- much lighter and less fragile -- and completely authentic.

The folding lantern on Page 223 of Union EOG (Patent 46011 on the US Patent site) used Mica sheets. They appear in the patent description. There was a thread on the old site where someone stated that although the patent date is Jan 1865, they'd been present at a dig where one was found where the dig was dated to 1863 (?)
