  • Butch Myers Seminar on Accoutrements

    Gentlemen,

On Saturday September 25th Mr. J.R. “Butch” Myers will present “Gearing Up for War: CS and US Accoutrements in the Early Days of the American Civil War." Myers has been meticulously studying the minutiae of the war for more than 35 years and has a reputation for constructing some of the most accurate reproductions available. Through images, drawings, demonstrations, and sketches, Mr. Myers will give a first hand look at how the fledgling CS Government developed and built the equipment for use by her soldiers in 1861. The program will be held at the Old Manassas Courthouse located at 9248 Lee Avenue, Manassas, VA 20109 at 2:00 p.m. A suggested donation of $5.00 per person is most appreciated. That sounds pretty cool! I wish I could make it, but just a little too far away and on the other side of the Big Muddy. I have a great militia belt and plate made by Butch several years ago. Have spoken with him on many occasions and he is very knowledgable.

      David,

I am planning to attend. Looking forward to the presentation. I've looked at some of his work online but it will be interesting to hear him speak on the subject. Thanks for posting.
