i was given some oil cloth material will this repel water as is. if so you sew two pieces together will it have to be treated at this juntion. i dont expect waterproof just some decent protection. ronnie tucker 7tn cav

Hi Ronnie, a few years ago somebody donated some oil cloth tarps to our Boy Scout troop. Now, assuming that this is the same type of material, I would say that if you sew two pieces together it should repel water. The tarps we had were untreated and could take quiet a beating from the rain before water would leak through.Andrew Verdon

Because lead and leadoxid are high toxical, here in Germany they are forbidden for to use in paint, only for historical Artefacts, who could not restored otherwise, you can get this stuff, if you can verify that.
