Shoe String ?'s

I just got my Serio Federal Bootees in the mail. They look great. I think I remember someone on the old AC posting something about accurate shoe strings. I did a search of the new AC and didn't find anythinig. The shoe strings that came with the boots are brown with a yellow core, is this appropriate?
