My name is Matt Mackintosh and I am with an Federal Artillery Battery. My question is who makes the best Artillery Shell Jacket? I have looked on the authorized vendors and all i saw was sack coats.

"Who makes the best" types of questions are very much frowned upon, and the threads generally closed with little comment. You can read the forum's FAQ of common reenactor questions by following this link : http://www.authentic-campaigner.com/...q.php?faq=faq2 The first question is "who makes the best _____?"

Despite this, I'm going to allow this thread for now. This thread is six weeks old, and no one responded until Cohen saw the post. Instead of another "who makes the best" and the usual endorsements, a better discussion might be why you might want a sack coat instead of an artillery short jacket depending upon unit, theater and time of your impression.
