  • US Cap Pouch Reference. What are you using?

It's the one accoutrement that I haven't found a dedicated book to.
What references have you found useful?
Frederick Gaede has been rumored to have one in the works for the past few years but it seems to not have been published yet.

So far, the only references that I use are period photos to kind of get an idea of what units wore. For my 77th NYSV impression, I couldn't find any photos or documents stating what exact kind of cap pouch was used so instead, I looked up a bunch of photos of New York units from the Library of Congress, downloaded the highest resolution available and zoomed in to examine what kinds of accoutrements the men were wearing. So, even though I couldn't find the exact kind, I could get a good idea of what NY units were being issued.

To add a little meat to my query.
A reference by John D. McAulay says that my unit got it's cap pouches at various times from H.A.Dingee, C.S. Storms and Thomas Smith & Sons. I've seen a note or two dated to 2009 on the net that Mr. Gaede has over fifty samples and was putting together a book for publication. I was hoping that there would already be a published source that would describe the details unique to at least the manufacture of Dingee and of Storms as I patiently wait for his work. I know enough to avoid ones that are marked Gaylord.
