Paper bags

All,
A while back I ran across a thread that had period instructions for folding paper into a pouch for salt, sugar, etc... (I want to say they referred to it as a pharmacy fold or General Store fold). It was stirdy and self closing. Well after searching for almost an hour, I haven't been able to locate this thread again. Any help in locating it or if someone has the instructions they could send me, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to get away a bit from always using the cloth bags even for the little sugar I carry. Thanks!

If you look at figures 5 and 6, I believe you have the original 1859 bag (maybe not Francis' '52 bag) but at least the '59 one. Don't know if this helps or not.

I find several matches in searching under "druggist fold". You fold paper in half, then thirds, tuck the ends into each other, fill the packet and fold over the top. Is that what you are referring to?

I think the modern term for that is a drug bindle... I'm sure there are a bunch of youtube videos on how to do it. No sure on its historicity.
