  • Euroarms 1861 Springfield ramrods

Does anybody know of a good place to get a euroarms 1861 springfield ramrod? I've ordered several online from vendors, and they ended up not fitting in my rifle, i assume because they aren't euroarms specific. Also went to Gettysburg and looked around, but they seemed to have a springfield ramrod shortage.

In what way are they not fitting? Too long/short? Loose and falling out?

Just curious, but did Euroarms at one point change the size of the 61 ramrod? I purchased a spare several years ago straight from euro and the swell was much larger than the first one and was about a 1/2 inch shorter.

I ordered one from Dixie Gun Works, not specificaly for the Euroarms, but it fits fine and is a better rammer than what came on my Euroarms. I did have to thread the end of the rammer, I think...

The ramrod is getting stuck at the swell, so it doesnt go in all the way. As a temporary fix, i got a Dixie Gun Works .58 cal ramrod that looks similar to the springfield ramrod, but without the swell and without a threaded end. It sits loose in the rifle, however, so hopefully I can eventually find a correct replacement.

on a side note, I actually checked the last 2 ramrods i got for it that did not fit, and the swell size between the 2 is slightly different.

            Ian:

Have you tried Lodgewood Mfg. and S&S Firearms? Lodgewood has Euroarms Italian Springfield ramrods, although they could be out of stock. I would give them a call to see if they are ordering more.
