Getting back into the hobby, looking to buy stuff...

I have been away from the hobby for the last 15 years but my interest has been resurrected recently. I am considering both Reb and Fed impressions and am curious to know what the average order time is nowadays and are there are any vendors in particular who may be more trouble than they are worth in spite of the quality of their work?

Also this may not be the right category, but DO prefer to buy used gear and need just about everything at this point so if someone out there has some uniforms or equipment for sale I would be very interested.

A good place to start for vendors is the AC's approved vendor list. You can't go wrong there.

Welcome back, Mr. Asher!

For used gear, you might start a thread in the "Want to Buy" folder and list things like sizes and what you're looking for. Also, you can keep an eye on the "Want to Sell" folder... items come up there all the time.

Our Approved Vendors are a good place to start when looking for uniforms and gear, as already mentioned.

Glad to see folks coming back to the hobby!

Thanks for the input guys, im looking for size 48 or 50 jackets and 44 to 46 trousers belts ect.

Ive been obsessively checking out the sell forum and have had good luck there thus far. Also checked out approved vendors as well. Seems like there are lots more options than I remember.

I'm looking to do an early war Federal ( Ohio) impression. Also looking for anything Confederate.
