I have bought 2 hats from Clearwater, a "Gettysburg" and a derby. They are high quality and nice to own.
For a more formal, highEST quality hat, I chose Tim Bender, I have 4 of his hats, they are SECOND TO NONE and if I had more opportunities to wear them, I would buy more! He is NUMBER 1.
Joel Bohy makes the ultimate forage caps. I own 2 of his, and although I love my 6 Greg Starbuck caps, Joel is right at the top.
The other guy you discuss with the tent, well, since 1990 I have managed to avoid purchasing his wares, just on principle. How I am treated dictates who gets my business. Plus, the quality leans toward "touristy".
