Looking for a Squares and Rectangle shirt pattern

Several years ago some one posted a link to a period shirt pattern on the internet using the Squares and Rectangle pattern.

Does anyone knowif that pattern is still available anywhere?

Try Sheri at Galla Rock Patterns, she's great to work with and answers the phone when you call and will talk you thru if you get stuck on something, I recently ordered a shirt and drawers pattern from her, I highly recommend her

You could try performing a search from The Workwoman's Guide which has some dandy stuff just waiting to be rediscovered. Check google books for the Guide. Another thought is purchasing a copy of Thoughts on Men's Shirts. You'll find patterns in each book. Please note that the patterns are not full size, ready to apply to fabric patterns. You'll find instructions, diagrams, measurements and the like from which you can make a full sized pattern.

When you read a little about the evolution of shirts from Thoughts on Men's Shirts, you find that the square pattern is old fashioned. Many of the surviving shirts of the period are more shaped with a gentle curve from the armpit to the waist, and another curve for the arm socket. A square shirt is okay, but the more curved styles are better.

Also, if I recall correctly, the basic Workwoman's Guide shirt is the older style without the placket front. There may be a boy's shirt in there with a placket.

There's also an 1857 Godey's shirt pattern here (search on the page for shirt): http://www.uvm.edu/~hag/godey/images/picsfashion.html You really gotta know what you're doing, though.
