  • Confederate Arsenal Supporting the Army of Mississippi at Perryville

Has anyone researched what Confederate arsenal supplied the Army of Mississippi with ammunition during the Perryville campaign? I'm starting to put together my kit for Perryville and was researching arsenal pack construction/labeling but wasn't sure what arsenal would be correct for the impression. My guess would be Augusta since Bragg's forces began the campaign from Chattanooga, but wanted to see if anyone had research to support/refute that assumption.

    Much obliged.

Could be anything really. Prior to the campaign the main source would have been the Memphis, Baton Rouge, and Briarfield (Columbus MS) Arsenals. Of course the first two had fallen by then, but perhaps some ordnance from those places could still be seen in the ordnance train. Then you have the various depots in Georgia such as Atlanta. East Tennessee actually got a lot of it's supplies from Richmond, as East TN was married with western VA in a single department, with Richmond sending lots of ordnance to East TN in the fall of 1862.
