    Re: Arming OHIO question

    Hello Ohio Mavins,
Anyone spending most any time handling original CW weaponry will find a musket or two stamped "OHIO".
When was this done? A WWI dealer from southern Ohio has given me the date 1867? True?

      Re: Arming Ohio Part I

This list is from the Ohio Executive Documents, Quartermaster General's Report, part 2, from 1863. The section is titled, "Arms Issued to Ohio Volunteers (U.S. Service, 1863). Unfortunately, the list is not nearly as extensive as those previously reported. There is a notation, though, that states, "Issued to replace foreign and unserviceable arms, or arms lost in service."

      1st Reg't - 30 Springfield rifle muskets.
      2nd Reg't - 30 Springfield rifle muskets.
      9th Reg't - 392 Springfield rifle muskets.
      11th Reg't - 650 Springfield rifle muskets.
      14th Reg't - 620 Springfield rifle muskets.

        Re: Arming Ohio Part I

just curious btu does anyone have the arming documents of the 1st and 2nd Ky Infantry? the regimetn was originally armed by buckeyes and the ranks were even mostly filled with them as well. The state of KY would not recognie the regiments as KY regiments until late 61. If anyone has documentation of these regiments please PM the info or drop a post on it. Like i said the regiments were outfitted by the tate of Ohio and were mustered into service in Pendelton.
        Very Respectfully,

          Re: Arming Ohio Part I

          Hi All,

I saw the listing of the "Pondir" Musket. I have one of these in my collection , thought I'd post pictures of it.
