There is a word I did not translate in French in my efforts to be the most faithful possible in English, it is "impedimenta" you can give me another word to say the same?

Oh, and other words you could use for "impedimenta" could be gear or paraphernalia.

William, "impedimentia" is a Latin word that English borrowed to describe camp equipment that had to be transported and could not be carried by Soldiers on the march. Julius Caesar used the word in his 'Commentaries on the Gallic War'. So using the same word in French I do not believe is incorrect. French Military Texts of the 19th century use the word.

But if you want to use a phrase instead, I'd suggest "camp equipment" or "equipment that impedes movement".

I replaced "impedimenta" by "useless things" (choses inutiles) I am not far from the truth when they replace by provisions, gear, paraphernalia, camp equipment and baggage... They are many useless things :) :) :)
