In my never-ending quest for primary sources I cannot help but continually be frustrated at the National Archives website and the Patent offices website. I know before the crash we had a few threads on here in regards to basic research applications. I believe it might have also been under the old toolbar link for "links" which was replete with a ton of great articles as well. Currently I am in search for the patents for the 1841 Rifle as well as Maynard’s 1845 patent for the tape primer. Would anyone happen to have these on hand? Furthermore could we turn this post into a how to negotiate those two websites for the benefit of all the younger guys without the previous experience. Maybe turn the post into a proactive repsonce to Emmanuel's "whatever happened to" thread.
