"Water Glass" and EisenGlass are two different things.

Water Glass is also known as Sodium Silicate.

EisenGlass is also known as mica.

    Try searching under those terms

Go to your local pharmacy! I think it is something you have to ask for though. I was curious about using some one time for anothr project, so I asked how much. It was a large boottlle(can't remember how much) and was $8. The pharmacy chain I went to was a "Medicine Shoppe."

Very pure 'water glass' is often available at home-owned pharmacies, usually in a quart jar. This is the grade you want to use if you are experimenting with period methods of storing fresh eggs. You may also inquire with any chemistry teacher you know about ordering some through their chemical supply catalogue.

"Eisen glass" may often be obtained from supply houses that deal in parts for wood stoves, as it is used in some stove windows.
