  • Pritchett 577 mold

I would like to mold some pritchett 577 minies for display. Does anyone know a source for repro molds? I searched Dixie and the usual sources and web search but no luck? Or is there someone that sells ready made pritchett rounds? JIM HENSLEY

      Re: Pritchett 577 mold

      Hallo!

A number of years ago I sent an original Pritchett ball to RAPINE, who made me a mold from it and added it to their product line.
The last time I saw their flyer, it was still available ( a few years ago...).

            Re: Pritchett 577 mold

Lee will charge $25.98 for the mould, plus a $150 setup fee. Cheaper if you're making a run of the moulds, but not so cheap for one-offs.

The Rapine mould casts true .575 or so, if I recall correctly, and so will be oversized for a paper-patched bullet.

If you want to do it "right", you can get a bullet swaging kit and swage them from lead wire. Costly to get set up, but dead on correct.

            Cheers,
