Hat Bands

I was reading something about hat trim a few years ago and the source mentioned the customary ribbons but also said that some hats had LEATHER bands. I don't recall seeing any originals or quality reproductions with them. Would anybody like to respond? I'd like to read what some of you have to say on this. Clifford Earl Hyde
