  • Looking for book

I am looking for a book that would deal specifically with the militia units in the state of Louisiana during the war.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cecil,

I understand that you are looking specifically for militias, but you may find Arthur Bergeron's "Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units" to be helpful. It deals mostly with regular Pelican State outfits, but has quite a bit of info on militias, also.

As a former Louisianan, Art Bergeron knows his stuff, and then some. Last I knew he was at the US Army Military History Institute in Carlisle, PA.

          Re: Looking for book

There is also some good information in Todd's "American Military Equipage, Vol. II."
