I've had an old white blanket given to me recently. It's a medium weight, white wool blanket. Since I live in Florida and there's no need for an extra blanket I'd like to make an overshirt out of it. However, I don't want the shirt to be white. How hard would it be to dye the material by myself? I have no prior experience with dying. Also, what would be the easiest dye-stuff to use? Logwood, sumac, something else? Are there any books on dying that someone could suggest to me? Has there been any articles written on the subject? Also, what do I dye the material in? I've got a big cast iron cauldron at my house, God only knows how it got there, but it's there. Will that work? Thanks in advance.
