  • Gloves for winter

    I am looking at a pic of the 2nd RI in the winter of 61-62 and they are drilling but they seem to have gloves on. In the pic their hands are white not like the color of the their faces. The pic is in The Civil War an Ariel Portrait but Abell page 20. Has anyone heard of gloves being issued? If anyone knows where this photo is could you post it.

    I found this photo, entitled "Officers of 2d Rhode Island Infantry". It's not very clear, unfortunately.
